Pretty much all about the care and even how to install!
*still adding stuff - ask specific things if needed of course!*
How to wash your hair with dreads installed *Link here*
How to wash your dreads when uninstalled
(although I don't recommend using super hot water - just warm)
You can also wash them in the washing machine!
On delicate, and warm setting with your choice of soap (whatever you want your dreads to smell like)

Something to know when you uninstall! You'll have a lot of hair shed. No panicking!
You naturally lose 60-100 hairs a DAY, so when you have them braided up for a month or 3, you'll have lots to comb out, just from when they haven't shedded while brushing your hair, etc.
You can brush out the shedded hairs with a wide-tooth comb after install, or wash and use lots of conditioner and then really comb out allll that hair easily with a wide-comb.
○
You can keep them installed anywhere from 1 month, to approximately 3 months. It depends on how fast your hair grows.
You'll get loose-ness and root-age after a bit of course from your hair growing - most hair grows about 1/2" a month, but sometimes more or less.
Which, you can definitely cut your bands, unbraid, and rebraid tightly if you don't wanna fully uninstall and reinstall!
Especially if the dreads match your natural color - Those of us who bleach our roots and dye our hair pink, blue, etc, yeah we sadly gotta take em out fully and redye ;p
**Bleaching and dying your roots are not recommended while they're installed! Bleach could melt the plastic fibers and, well, melt them to your hair/scalp!**
[You cannot dye synthetic dreads!! Dye will not react with the plastic like it would with your natural hair; just won't stick. Please order the colors you want, not blonde to dye]
But, of course it can feel good to just waaaash all your hair and give your scalp a break.

"Is it itchy?!"
Usually~ But, the itchiness mainly comes from your hair being in one section, not moving freely like usual. This can also totally happen with anyyy kind of extension, or even having your natural hair in braids, or a tight ponytail.
It can also come from, well, obviously the extra weight put on it - but don't scratch! Or at least very much. It can break the skin and still be itchy when it's healing and... never-ending cycle of itchies. It should only last mainly a week or 2.
If your scalp is sensitive, you can get "tension rash/bumps", from it not being used to the tension, or also for too-tight of installs!
Even though i've definitely gotten tension bumps, i've not really tried remedies. (except cold water... and that works a bit!)
But i've heard that mixing tea tree oil mixed in water (a couple drops per cup or so) and sprayed on helps a lot!
I can get the actual "recipe"/ratio if you need ^^

How to install DE (double ended) dreads - especially on long hair
Also DE install - more of the regular wrap-braid - my fav (but I keep the wraps even more horizontal)
And, wetting your hair for braiding is not recommended, as it can stretch the hairs, and once it dries can make the braid against your scalp get super tight, and also cause breakage in your hair. Kathleen actually doesn't do the wet install anymore either ;D

Installing SE (single ended) dreads - except, again, don't recommend the water, and I very much recommend latch hooks vs a comb end, or a bobby pin... I send latch hooks with half/full sets of SE dreads ^^
And installing on super short 1-2" hair! *its possible*
• Easiest short hair to install on is 3-5" long •
